The sun is out & the bums come out!!!
I don’t know about you but I love shopping for bright clothes when summer arrives.
Can’t wait to break out the shorts….although I do need some colour on my legs, white but pretty toned, mostly due to the squats, deadlifts, hip thrust etc. I’ve been focusing on over the last few weeks.
And that’s my point today…..
Don’t panic, if you’re not so keen on getting out of your winter wardrobe just yet.
If you’re a little out of shape, want to lose weight and tone up for summer, there’s still time.
You CAN do it if you want to, just make small changes STARTING TODAY.
Don’t try and change everything all at once. You know that won’t work out for you.
So where do you start?
Write down what concerns you the most about the way you are eating and exercise right now….
What COULD you do to change things up in a positive way?
Now, choose just ONE thing. ONE action. It needs to be the thing that you think will give you the biggest positive outcome in terms of your summer body confidence.
It could be:
Clear out the tempting high fat high sugar foods from your cupboards?
Diary date your workouts for the next 4 weeks.
Drink 2-3 litres of water a day.
Eat protein at every meal.
Join a new exercise class with a friend.
Go to bed before 10.30pm 5 times each week.
Look up some healthy quick recipes that you know you’ll enjoy.
Invest in a personal trainer.
See you’re daily dog walk as a way to workout. Get hot and sweaty.
There are so many things you COULD do, those above are just a few of my suggestions.
Whatever you choose ask yourself this…
“How confident am I that I can do this thing on a scale of 1-10?”
Anything lower than a 9 you need to simplify eg “I will attend a fitness class 4 times a week.”….7/10.
Simplify “I will attend a class twice a week consistently for 4 weeks”…..9/10.
This second one is a goer!
Don’t let Perfection be the enemy of good. You can be PERFECT or you can be CONSISTENT, but you can’t be both.
Consistency is where the magic lies.
Things keep changing every decade of your life and its important that you’re not wasting your precious time doing ineffective exercise or eating foods that are just not serving your goals.
