I’m sure you’ve heard of it. You may even be starting it today!
You start on Monday. You’re super good through to Thursday and then reward yourself at the weekend.
All rules go out of the window as you celebrate a job well done all week.
It’s a story I hear time and time again. It’s a story I played out myself in the past.
Total frustration followed. Miserable all week and no results to show for it. No matter how hard I tried.
I’d then get “back on it” on Monday and try harder.
This is one scenario I dig into with my clients.
You know what you should and shouldn’t be doing…..but actually following through consistently is difficult isn’t it?
Its not you lack of knowledge that’s holding you back, consistent implementation. Just DOING IT!
But how do you have a great weekend and still lose weight? How do you celebrate Xmas without gaining 1/2 a stone?
How do you enjoy a glass of wine every night and still serve your goals?
How on earth do you enjoy eating and drinking and still look sh*t hot in your jeans?
This is what we REALLY want to know isn’t it? And it’s simple.
I said SIMPLE…..not easy.
It takes time and practice, and that’s what I’m here to support.
When you’ve had an indulgent day, the temptation is to punish yourself the next day isn’t it? Get tight.
Exercise off the naughty and promise yourself that you won’t be tempted today.
But does that REALLY work? Has it worked in the past?
What is it we’re really worried about here? Gaining a few pounds that day because we indulged?
This is micro management.
What’s one day, one week in the grand scheme of your long lasting health and fitness?
Punishing yourself the next day for over indulgence will just make you feel bad.
Less likely to make good choices the next day. And there lies the key to long lasting success.
The consistent choices…..NOT the Mess Ups!!!
Forget micro managing your mess ups/slip ups/indulgences…whatever you’d like to call them.
We all have them. We all indulge sometimes (including me). It’s a CHOICE. Own it, and move on sister!
